Anyone on the board live in Lions Gate? Prices seem high. Does Fred Smith Company negotiate or are prices as advertised?
I think the prices are pretty competitive with the area, but I personally wouldn't buy a Fred Smith home. You can come up the road and buy my house in Wynston!!!
why not purchase a home from fred? do you not like the barbecue he serves on the campaign trail? he is having his johnston county free barbecue rally at smithfield-selma high school tonight at 6:30pm. free barbecue and all the trimmings. i guess this is his johnston county version of the barbecues in all counties of nc during his run for govenor. might as well go down there and get a free barbecue dinner tonight.
Where is Wynston? Do you have a link to your house? I am looking for a two story hom over 2000 sq feet.
You should check out Centex (The Pointe), they have pre-build deals going on right now - you can save 18,000 upfront - that is instant equity.
Wynston is at the intersection of Guy & Amelia Church Rd, if you're heading up Amelia Church Rd toward 42, go straight through the Guy Rd. intersection, it is on both sides of the road.
I haven't bought one of his houses but I've bought him a several nice dinners. (pool(s) and gym membership)
Aren't you the same person blasting the couple that was on TV for loosing their house to one of those bad loans? I didn't have time to find the thread, but I do remember you’re not agreeing with saving the people in those loans? I'm curious as to why you would refer someone to a deal like that? Save $18,000 up front???? Instant equity??? Those kinds of "sales" gimmicks on homes get people in trouble. It’s identical to the TV couple except the bad loan hasn’t been written yet. There are no "actual" instant equity homes. It's another case of a poor appraisal practices, accelerated prices or the builder is doing a freebie. I doubt the latter very much.
Yeah, that was me. What does it have to do with business being slow for Centex? The lots are just stitting there. I am by NO MEANS a real estate expert. I did look at the model a few weeks ago, and he said if you agree to pre-build by Feb 18th I think the date was, they are offering 18,000 off the home/package. I thought it sounded like a good deal? Is it not? Is it really a gimmick/trick? Maybe it was tied to using their lender, who knows. I did not look into it. THIS is why you should do your homework, so you don't fall into any traps. You could look at the other sales in the neighborhood, you choose your plan/elevation - then they knock off 18 grand. That's what the guy said. Is it a scam? I really am ignorant about this, I was just throwing it out there. Can you explain? http://www.centexhomes.com/Raleigh/N46306.asp
Goodness gracious, since when is having an opinion being "bit**y?" I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to voice an opinion on this board. I thought that is what "discussion" group meant. I believe I said I PERSONALLY wouldn't buy a home from him. I don't like his politics, nor the ideas that he stands behind. Therefore, I would not give him my money. He could build mansions for next to nothing, but he's way too conservative for me, and I wouldn't support him in any way. Just my opinon, you can take it or leave it, and if you think it's bit**y, so be it.
