Okay, I need the help of my 4042 experts. And yes, before you ask, I've googled, but I can't seem to find anything.

We are finding these little teeny black bugs in the house. They are about the size of a flea, but I think they are in the beetle family. The have a hard shell that "crunches" when you smush them. They have some type of antenna coming from their head that comes together and looks like one singular "horn". I find them mostly in the bathroom, near water.

    They are driving me NUTS.

I can't get rid of them because I don't know what they are. Anyone have any ideas?

How can they be noseeums, if she sees them, LOL?

I thought noseeums were outside flying insects, kinda like mosquitoes, only smaller and you don't see .em......

Not sure whatcha you got there Jenn.....how big are they?

We've been having problems with Ants....they just keep appearing in different places!

No, I just googled them, that's not it.

And they are about the same size/shape as a flea, but you can see their feet and that little antenna thing on their head.

Noseeums are both mosquito like flyers (in NC), and are also the name of a sand flea like critter (in FL).

I found a website that is pretty good when I was looking up Palmetto Bugs(not encouraging news, by the way) called www.whatsthatbug.com. It looks pretty good. But I have a 50 year old house with spiders that look like they are from Australia and many other creepy crawlies and I haven't seen what you are describing!

They may be what my grandmother called "grain bugs". You need to carefully check your flour, oatmeal, etc. They like that stuff a lot.

I think they are called potato bugs as well. They are the kind that WILL find a home in the flour and stuff like that. Maybe I need to ask my neighbor about that. lol Anyway they are not as aggravating as a fruit fly. I had about 10000 ants yesterday.ughhhhh

My neighbor had these. They will turn into "tiny moths" if you let them. Carefully check everything with grain (bread, pasta, flour, rice, cereal) and inspect. Throw out (obviously) everything that's "infested" and then put everything else in the freezer for 24 hours. This will kill the larvae. Rule of thumb, when you buy any type of grain, put it in the freezer for 24 hours or keep it in the fridge-this will make things you don't see, not grow...and yes, it's gross, but there are a lot of teeny-tiny things in flour...

What is the nutritional makeup of napalm, Ken? Is it an antioxidant by chance?

I always store my flour, sugar, rice, etc in the freezer until I am ready for it. I hate bugs.

I also seem to be bombarded with ants. I have set out some terro, which helps, but still cannot seem to get rid of those dang things. They drive me nuts!!

I have this same type of bug in my bathroom. My son-in-law thought that they were baby roaches, but, they never grow to be that big.
I had some diazanone and used that in there, but, they came right back. They are really hard to get rid of.
I don't have them any place except the bathroom.

I tried to take a picture of them last night and they are too darn small.

    Ugh, this is truly aggrivating!

I have had these in my bathroom from time to time but now that you mention it, I haven't seen them lately. I just kill it and they don't seem to be a problem, not like an infestation. They are not the bugs that grow in flour, these are only in the bathroom.
