So I had to laugh about the suggestion to get a runt and let it fatten for the year...but he's tied to our cats like glue and the ONE time one hid in a closet and I thought she got out almost got us therapy bills for years! LOL!!!! Don't know why the kid is so "nice" to pets and mean to his brother! That's not true...I DO know...I just pretend otherwise! LOL!

Anyway, one of the ideas that I thought of is LOBSTER RACES!!! We used to do it years ago, and it would be cheaper, albeit not easier, to buy them live and let 'em run to the pot! Uugggh!! My men are so barbaric!

How are the fish markets around here?

Any suggestions? I have no problem, either, with lobstermen, but I don't know any. LOL!

(I literally made a LIST of the seafood restaurants. Hubby isn't a fishy guy, only land, but the kids and I will eat lobster, crab, oysters, anything with FISH! YUMMMYYYYY!!!!)

The seafood restaurant at the Farmers Market is FANTASTIC!!! DH and I can get 1 plate and easily split it and have food left over! I've never seen so many shrimp on a plate!

If you are looking for a seafood market to buy fresh seafood to cook at home, go to Earps off of South Saunders St. Freshest in town!

I have never been here, but there is one on 42 by the Food Lion on the other side of Clayton going towards Flowers Plantation.

The one by the food lion on 42 east is the only one we go to and we buy there weekly. The owners run it and they are supernice and will get whatever you need. We have bought lobster tails there and they were great! I do recommend getting fresh, not frozen ones. Steve's Seafood 919-359-0518. Tell him the Wake Tech teacher sent you!

I saw that the Lowe's Foods at 42/50 has lobsters, probably 1/2 dozen. Clayton Lowe's never seems to have them in stock.

Here's what I have to say about the Capital Seafood Market next to McCall's. They've got good service but the p'o'ed me:

I was having an oyster roast on Saturday. A week before I walked in and asked when I needed to order my oysters. I told him I wanted NC oysters. He said "come on Thursday, if you need them by Saturday." I thought that was a little late but we thoroughly discussed that I needed them by Saturday. Thursday comes and I walk in to order the oysters. Same guy, I'm pretty sure he's one of the owners, says " you need these by Saturday, it's too late, you needed to order them by Tuesday." I replied: "I stood here last weekend and you told me I could order them on Thursday for Saturday." He kept saying "No, if you needed the oysters by Saturday, you have to order them by Tuesday." He offered no apology or "maybe I misunderstood you." At this point I was really ****ed because I had a dozen people coming to my house to eat. He/I keep arguing because I'm thinking my oyster roast is busted. Finally, he says he has some Louisiana oysters in the fridge and says I can buy those. He explains they're more salty. So I picked those up Saturday and the rest of the roast went on w/o a hitch. The oysters tasted just fine but to this day I want to know what the hell was going through the owner's head.

The one on 42 east I can never get on the phone. Apparently he's solo lobo and he's always traveling. He didn't return my phone message either.

Incorrect...he's there during stated hours except for the occasional Saturday when someone else runs the place. I cannot speak to why he didn't answer if you called during regular hours, but to state that he's always traveling is Assuming you know the reason. He has a good business and could have been helping customers who were actually in the store when you called. Steve has always answered my calls and even stayed late when I was a few minutes past closing time.
