i just have to put out a woohoo to Clear Water Pool Shop:hurray::hurray: As you guys know i pretty much know how to take care of pools and when something is wrong i know what i need to fix it. Well recently i had a few dozen kids in the pool and after that cleaned my filter of grass for 3 days. Well as anyone who has ever taken chemical certification classes knows, grass, leaves, any plant material will create phosphates in your water and phosphates are the number one food for algae. As soon as i saw a tinge to my water, i tested for phosphates due to all the grass from the kids feet and yep, the level was high. So since it did not want to wait to order online for the Phosphate Eliminator i went first to Capital Pools cause it was closer. When i asked the guy where it was, he informed me he did not believe in phosphates, yeah i know, unbelievable. Well i didn't have time to debate him and having worked in the business i knew his reasoning behind it so i went on down to Clear Water and of course they carry it:hurray: The reasoning behind some pool shops not believing in phosphates even though it is taught in certification classes is that they can sell you a fortune in chemicals to clear up your "algae" and green water and when after they have tried everything for weeks and the water is still green, they tell you that you have to drain your pool down and spend even more money starting over. i applaud Clear Water for not trying to push people to spend a fortune fixing something that a $20 bottle of Eliminator will take care of, while they may not make the fortune in all the chemicals trying to fix the problem, they build a good customer base that will build long term sales.:hurray: That is the kind of retail business i believe in:cheers:
Kaci, We have also had nothing but positive experiences with ClearWater pools. We are on Bacquacil which thankfully they carry. Otherwise it would be a trip all the way to Rec Warehouse for us. We take our water to ClearWater about every other week and they happily test it, and NEVER try to sell us chemicals if we don't need them. They also know how to truly interpret the water testing results and don't just tell us to do what the report says. They will sometimes tell us we don't really need as much as the numbers say. Our water (knocking on wood) has been crystal clear every year because of their expertise. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing a pool or maintaining one they have. As for the other place you noted, well.....I just won't go there, in more ways than one!
If my car is in the driveway tomorrow, just come out back. OH, and bring me a beer from the garage.
What Kaci said is absolutely true. Remember when I had that exact problem, Kaci? I spent OVER $500 on chemicals from Crapitol Pools that summer and they told me the same thing . . . I would have to drain the pool and start over. After ONE trip to Clear Water and $24 in chemicals we were swimming in crystal clear water. Those guys up there are great. They NEVER tried to sell us something we didn't need. We don't have a pool anymore but if we ever get another one it will surely come from them.
We bought our first pool from them last January. There has been a lot of hand holding going on because everytime something happens it's usually a first for us. Through it all they have been the best. Wouldn't think of using anyone else.
Where is clear water located? do they do maintenance? I just started using Rising Sun for my inground pool. They are expensive and I am not totally thrilled with results so far.
In the brick strip plaza behind Golden Corral at 40/42. They are actually on the end closest to Golden Corral.
