Seeing the post about the Rodeo @ RBC reminded me that I have been wanting to ask if there is any kind of small scale local Rodeo within no more than an hour from here. I think my boys would love to see a Rodeo, even on a very small scale. Anyone know of one? Thanks! -K
A friend of mine used to barrel race locally. I can check with her and see how to find out when and where they hold them. I went to couple with her, one was in Garner on Hwy 50, near where that old Hardee's is.
Well, let's see, Benson Mule Days is the event that immediately comes to mind, but you'll have to wait till September for that. http://www.maprarodeo.com/ is the website for the local rodeo association, looks like they do a lot of barrel racing around Benson, don't know about the other events. http://www.barbruffstock.com/index.html does a lot of bull riding, there's an event in Raleigh, and across the state but don't see anything local till September.
http://www.ncstatefair.org/events/HorseComplex.htm All sorts of good stuff, to include bull riding this coming weekend. Also know there is a ring over on White Oak Rd. but don't know any of the specifics. Craig
Thanks! I'll be checking these places out. Now I remember noticing the place on White Oak too. I've never seen anyone there. I wonder if it is even in use? That is very close to home, would be great if they have events there. -K
