If Gov starts to hand-out funds directly to small businesses, I'll be the first in line....but until then, it just helps to know I'm not alone in this crunch! http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20091012/us_nm/us_usa_credit_smallbusiness
Perhaps it was just a "populist" idea that I'd overheard. Yet, in its simplicity, is seemed to benefit many and would have been an alternative to how well things have worked out so far. Had the federal government given to each household a check for 100K, and required them to purchase a new vehicle, appliances, etc, the jumpstart on the economy would have been farther along. That increased demand for goods and services mgiht have spured the investment into more jobs. As it appears now, only the banks and the rich have done well. banks are sitting on money they borrow at next to nothing from the fed, and, if they loan it out at all, loan it at high rates. Yet, they banks have the money to influence how the fed will act. Your voice and mine pale in its comparison. As I said, this was a distillation of a view that I heard from a person whose roots in this county go way back, and for whom progress and recovery has left behind.
