G'Day! Can anyone recommend a good WOMEN'S ONLY gym in the 40/42 area? Not a Curves-type place, something more serious. I belonged to Body Contours (behind CVS) but they are now out of business. Thanks!

Didn't someone mention that Body Contours moved next to Dance Art on 1010? Or is that someone else?

It's the same woman who owns the same gym but it's now called Body Creations and yes, they moved into the place where Head Turners used to be, beside the Dance Art place. Same parking lot and all. If you've ever been to Body Contours when it was behind CVS, it's the same style place. Treadmills/ellipticals, free weights and exercise machines. They also have their exercise classes. The new place is about the same size as the other place, only the exercise room is now an actual "room", versus a sectioned-off area of the big room.

Then why mention that they were out of business???

A quote from another thread. So you have or have not heard about this place? You are kinda going back and forth. Are you just trying to get it out that there is a new name and new location for the old body contours?

Oh here we go again.....or maybe it's a rival gym trying to make this one look bad!! Must there always be a conspiracy when someone mentions a business on here? I went to Grand Street the other night and they were really good, but I don't own the place nor do I work there, but i'm sure I'll be accused of it now :banghead:

I think if you read her other thread, Kellbell had to show her an old thread, that they moved and changed names. It didn't sound fishy to me. It sounded like she used to belong to Body Contours, and thought they closed. Now she's found out they moved and has gotten the new info they needed (she probably went there today to sign up by the sounds of it, I think she even posted that they do in fact charge the one-time fee). So no, I don't think this one is fishy at all, think she's just posting the information that she's found out...At least that's how it sounds to me, if you read through both threads.

If you were a member at body contours you should have received a letter explaining the move and everything. I am not trying to point fingers, but this is the second time she posted asking the exact same question trying to get responses. Yes, sounds fishy, but maybe I am just in a bad mood today and am picking on small stuff. Not trying to ruffle feathers.

That's how I read it, too. I think the confusion comes from the fact that she posted the same question on both sides, got her answers over there, and then came back here with the information. Could have avoided that problem by just posting in one place or the other, though.

She just posted this question 2 minutes after the other one. Maybe she's new here and didn't realize the same people read both the Neighborhood & Discussion sides, and it's not necessary to post in both places.

Yes, I agree. And I'm assuming she probably didn't get a notice because she probably used to be a member, but wasn't at the time they moved? I don't know, just assuming here...And I remember at the time they moved people stating they didn't get their letters, or got them after they had already moved. So I don't think it was the most organized move either...

But for future reference, please don't post the same thing on both sides, it gets very confusing!
