some of you 4042 posters are a lot smarter than me and use some very big words. i did not know what you were lookig for until i looked up the meaning. but sorry, i can't recommend one. lol www.hormone.org/public/endocrinologist.cfm
I second this.... Not many to choose from in the Triangle area but this practice has a great reputation!!
I called a few last week and they dont take patients without a referral (even though my insurance doesnt require one) I havent called my doc, but I am sure he will want to 'work his magic' before he refers me. I want to go to the specialist and be done with it. Not try this and that first....
After looking at my smart arsed comment, it looks like I should have looked it up first also. I thought it dealt with Endoscopy.
just TELL your dr that you want to go their! they shouldnt have a problem with it and if they do start threatning them that you will be leaving their practice!
I have a friend that went to one in Benson, she thought he was very good because she had been to others that were not so helpful....sorry don't know his name, but surely there aren't that many in Benson!
Raleigh Endocrine is who my daughter went to. They are great. HOWEVER, tehy do NOT take patients w/out a referral even if your insurance doesn't require one. Good luck. Take care, Stephanie--mom to 7
That is who we use, right behind Ral. Comm. Hospital (Duke Jr). I loved Dr. Tracy Black, but she just left the practice & joined an office in Durham. Too far a drive for me. For a while she saw 3 generations of my family. She was great. Totally knew her stuff re "Sugar" & Thyroid issues. Not too sure who DM is using now, she has an appt. next mo. I do know the office is MEGGA BUSY w/ many doc's and loads of patients all the time.
I'd be shocked if you found one that didn't have to have a 'referral'....that's how they roll....referral's only. Your Primary Care Doc shouldn't have a problem 'referring' you.
All of the staff at Raleigh Endo are good. I'll miss seeing Dr Black. As for Dr Becker, if you;re going to see him, you;d best do your part. If you have diabetes and don;t test as you should, eat as you should, don;t look to him for an excuse or a "let's not worry about it" attitude. Dr Becker is brilliant and much in demand. Consequently, if you aren't doing your part, you are wasting his time and yours. He Doesn't ask much, just that you do your part, and own up to it, if you don't. I'd also recommend Dr Anthony Azzi, who was with RE until last year. His office is in North Raleigh, off 540 I think. He is a great endo. His nurse lives in Clayton, and has been with him for years. Becker and Azzi are the one's I'd start with.
If you need a pediatric endo PM me. My kiddo goes to one at Duke who has an office on Wake Forest Road.
Thanks everyone for the info ! I contacted my doc who is "supposed" to call Raleigh Endocrine with the referral for an appt. We shall see. I dont have a very responsive family doc, so I am changing that too !
