We're going on vacation in mid May this year and are looking for boarding for our 2 dogs. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Our vet could board them, but I feel they are a little expensive for what they provide. Ideally, if they could be boarded inside someones house (they are both crate trained though Gwyn, the 9 year old has seperation anxiety and doesn't think she should be kenneled if you're awake and home). My older girl, age 9, would appreciate somewhere that wasn't always packed with barking dogs! Go figure. :? She is not dog aggressive but makes it clear when she doesn't want to be bothered too much by other dogs. She does play like a pup though and will play for several minutes before either going to lay down or bug a human for some loving. My younger girl, age 3, is the world's most perfect dog. She is technically a service dog and I may bring her with us, but I don't think we're going to need her really and would like for her to have a 'vacation' herself. Anyway, if any of ya'll know of a good place for my furry kids that includes a good amount of play time and people time, let me know.
We have highly enjoyed Lucky Paws over on Hwy70 for boarding and daycare. They're banners are all over the site here and they are listed under the business directory. I think the website is http://www.myluckypaws.com Give Eric and Karen a call and see if you couldn't work out an "introduction" time. I find them to be very accomodating and patient with our english bully:hurray: Number is 550-8400. I also feel like Eric and Karen both would give you an honest answer if they think your girls would be stressed out by the situation. I know lots of people here use Bone Voyage and are happy with them as well. Good luck to you and hope you find a situation to work for you!
I know sleds are hard to find right now, but dog boarding is just reprehensible behavior. Please try to resist the urge to use your dog as a sliding platform.
Thanks English Bully's mom. I've been considering Lucky Paws, though I live out in Benson. Their prices are doable for us if we send both dogs and I know Jenna will LOVE it. Gwyn, as long as she gets people loving, she's happy. She has some Separation Anxiety issues that honestly, drive me nuts sometimes. But I've had her for 9 or 10 years now and I won't throw in the towel with her, she doesn't have much time left I'm sure, though she doesn't act her age at all. She did seem happy a few years ago when she went to daycare at PetsMart when we lived in Raleigh. I was just hoping to maybe hear about some other people's experiences. I think Bone Voyage is a little too expensive for me since it doesn't appear their rates include daycare.
Critter & Cottage Care Kelly C Brock 919-662-1072 Description: Professional pet boarding at their Garner location & pet sitting in the privacy of your own home. Additional services include pet transportation & mid-day walking for your animal. We used Kelly for boarding our dog for a week. Her and her husband spoiled our dog rotten with lots of play time and a loving home environment instead of a kennel. They have a large back yard for outside play but kept him inside nice and warm. I have used Bone Voyage and they are great but I liked the home environment Critter & Cottage care offered as that is what our dog is used to. Good Luck!
do NOT use stage road vet. they are our vet and board as well.....we thought that would be great b/c she likes it there and was familiar with. yea....not so much.....i was not happy when we picked her up. i have heard great things about bonevoyage.
Hwy 210 -- Pet Perfection I'm 95% sure they do boarding as well (I know they do dog grooming).. Try giving them a call to find out details.
What does she charge to board at her home? In their home are they in a kennel or allowed inside their house?
I think she was 14 or 16 per day. They have a large back yard for outside play but kept him inside nice and warm. Give her a call
