Hi. I'm looking for someone local who makes purses/pocket books. I would like one of the fabric or quilted type and a specific pattern of fabric for a reasonable price. I haven't had any luck finding one. I know there used to be a lady who posted in the classifieds but I couldn't find her ads anymore. If you make purses or can recommend someone who does, please PM me and let me know their info. Thanks!
I know exactly who you are talking about. And I know where she lives... but for the life of me I can't remember her name, other than her first name (Jamie, I believe.) Sorry, I've searched and searched but am no help for you. Maybe she'll list some more purses again soon.
I think I know who you are talking about also. I saw her ad at one point also. I think her name is Jane Lee ?. Lives on Allen Road. Maybe Sluggers can help us. I think that is his sister.
I've debated posting, I thought surely someone else out there sews them. I used to make some fabric purses and sell them on ebay, etc. PM me if you want and tell me exactly what you are looking for................I might be able to help if it's nothing too awfully complicated. 8)
Thank you all so much, I couldn't remember her name either, but thanks for trying. KDC, thank you for the offer. I will PM you.
Just thought I share this with you: if you go to Walmart and visit their fabric/art and craft section, they have pattern catalogs on their table. I believe there are plenty of patterns to make purses of any kinds. If you have a sewing maching and knew how to use it, then it's good to go. They're really easy to make. I learned that when I was in Girl Scout and we were taught how to sew basically by making a purse.
I wish I could sew. It's funny, I can paint most anything, floral arrangements, alot of different crafts, but sewing isn't one of them. By the time I bought the fabric (enough to mess up too) I'd have been able to pay for the purse, twice I'll leave it to ladies more talented than myself and save the frustration for something else. lol Amy
A took a beginner class at the Clayton Center, very helpful! I'm all thumbs too! That's where I learned to make them, I modified the pattern a good bit, but I made a ton of them once I got the hang of it, actually till I was sick of them, LOL. Gave a bunch as gifts, made a bunch of them to sell on ebay, they did pretty well...................
