I read an article somewhere about a new store opening up by a mom of 6 kids. She opened up a swimwear store somewhere around here (that could be within an hour's drive) and she pretty much guarantees to find a suit that will fit. Do any of you remember the name of that store? Thx.
Too funny! Yep, it's in Knightdale, www.nicolesswimwear.com 1016 E Shoppes @ Midway Plantation 266-1443.
Dck's at the White Oak center has them all the time. Most competitive swimmers buy them at Kast-A-Way in Raleigh. The Kast-A-Way store actually measures each person to check the fit of the swim suit They also carry lots of other swimming items. I don't remember that name of that other store.
Kast A Way Swimwear www.kastawayswimwear.com 6274 Glenwood Ave # 108 Raleigh, NC 27612 (919) 781-3775 Another place to check out on the Road Trip!
Thanks. That is exactly where we get most of my daughter's swim suits. The are great. The Kast-A-Way store up in Raleigh is past Crabtree, in a shopping strip on the left hand side of the road. The Speedo website offers a grab bag. They show a person how to measure so that you are ordering the right size and in the grab bag are a few suits and other items, if needed. That bag is much cheaper than going retail. If your child is on a swim team find out from the coach which company sponsors the team. If the team is sponsored by Speedo or someone, when going to the store, make sure to mention that. The discount is well worth it. Our family are experts on this one so don't hesitate to contact me to ask questions. Sherry
Either way the grab bag from Speedo is cheaper than buying at a local retail store. Sometimes TJ Maxx has them on sale but if she is just looking for a bathing suit most any store carries them. Belks, Khol's, etc. Kast-A-Way is not just for competition. It is just that since my daughter swims in competitions we are on top of where to get them cheaper. Swim practice will wear a bathing suit out so we look for the inexpensive ones for that. Speedo's grab bag is great for getting a few suits for a cheap price. Either way, the original poster never stated whether it was for casual or competitive use. Sherry
I am pretty sure bandmom meant that no one would wear a speedo other than for competition and the OP was looking for casual swimwear, not competition olympic swimwear....keep up SherryGrace, I know its hard.
Lots of people wear Speedo. TJ Maxx actually has a whole row of Speedos on sale once a year. The suits hold up longer. Sometimes I like to see a man in a Speedo and other times...no way! SherryGrace is keeping up, honey. Sherry
I was just puzzled that Sherry kept bring up places and suggestions about 'competition' type of suits, whether is be speedo or whatever, when the original poster had only said she was looking for a swimsuit. She never said anything about needing something for swim team etc. Whatever - we all know how frustrating it can be to find one that fits right
I used to buy Venus bathingsuits for years!!! they we expensive and looked awesome. BUT since I've found the "clearance" rack at Target, I won't be buying another expensive bathingsut again! 2 at Target each were $14!!!:hurray::hurray::hurray:
I love Venus but they aren't as unique as they used to be. I especially liked the metal click together V on the top and on the hips. I have suits from Venus that I have had for years and they really last.
Funny, I just went through my bathingsuits that I had bought from Venus (10 years ago) and threw them in the trash except for one top. I obviously don't wear a Peteite bottom anymore NOR do I wear "french cut" :ack::ack::ack:
