perry sullivan, autor of "lost flowers" will be at deep river brewery in clayton on saturday, june 29 for book signing. he will have a few books for sale. perry sullivan is the "secret" son of percy flowers, king of the bootleggers. book is a great read, especially for clayton and johnston county oldtimers. kinda fitting that he will be at johnston county's only legal brewery for a book signing. http://www.lostflowersbook.com/
Deep River is a fun place - went to the grand opening, and have had their beer in Raleigh. Sounds like a fun opportunity!
deep river book signing was well attended. brewery needs a/c. very hot and steamy yesterday afternoon. perry sullivan will be at white swan on us 301 s in Smithfield from 11:30-1:30 today. very appropriate as his father used to sell moonshine on that property back in the '50's when us 301 was major hwy from ne to florida prior to I-95 being built.
It was a great afternoon at the brewery and to meet Perry Sullivan, the Barone Meatball truck was pretty damn good too!
