My whole street lost power last night around 10pm, flickered and then stayed out till about 2am. Wondering if anyone knew why..there was no storm or anything, just rain and more rain.

oh wow, I hope he is ok..must have been it cause it was before 11pm..I was finishing up watching Lord of the Rings and it would have been done at 11..
Someone else told me that when you come off the exit you couldn't turn right, they had it all blocked off.

That was the reason. Our power went out for like 45 seconds and then came back on. I told hubby that the pager would be going off in a minute and sure enough, it did. He didn't get home till after midnight.

Deputy Hurt After Crashing Patrol Car
    [IMG]
A Johnston County sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized Sunday night after crashing his patrol car into a utility pole. The late night accident happened on Highway 210 near I-40. Deputy Jeff Carter was responding to back up another officer on a call when he met another car in a curve near the center of the roadway. The officer moved his car off the right side of the highway, overcorrected then lost control, causing his cruiser to smash into a utility pole. Deputy Carter was transported by 50-210 EMS crews to WakeMed, where he was still hospitalized on Monday. His injuries were not life threatening. The crashed caused several power lines to sag, forcing emergency crews to block a section of Highway 210 until utility crews could make repairs. Photo by Carter Rabil
