We are about to purchase massive amounts of flooring and are seriously considering going through Lowes. Does anyone have any pro's or con's?
Has anyone used Lowes before for your flooring needs :)

    Thanks ~ Koo

I had a good experience at Lowes when we did it a few years ago (at our previous home)! This year we went with USA Flooring off of capital to complete our Bouns Room. The only reason we did this was because they offered price match guarantee from Lowes and were able to install the carpet the same week, while Lowes had a 2 1/2 week wait! Now we had to call their bluff on a few things at USA Flooring (or stay on them) but overall it was worth saving a little money with USA plus having same week installation! Lowe's uses contractors to do the installation and they do a good job too though!

We just bought carpet thru Lowes and had a great experience. They moved everything that was big and put it back. Helped us out alot.

we used a local guy there at 40/42, his name was Willie. I cant remember the name of the store he owns, but he did a great job. He did our carpet, hardwoods and vinyl. Great experience and wonderful personal service.

Lowes is the place to get all of your building supplies and anything needed for your home projects. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They have everything you need under one roof.

That's one reason why we are strongly considering them is b/c they are going to mark down everything else we buy from there if we use them. I'm just wondering how anyone else's experience working with them has been.

Back when we were on flooring projects, we found that Lowe's was not competitively priced compared to local places that specialized in flooring.
It depends mainly on whether you are doing the installations or paying for that along with the flooring materials.

Bought and had my livingroom carpet installed by Lowe's. Excellent job. No complaints.

  12. Lowe's is great if you have to use credit to pay for it. For better pricing for people paying cash, Handy Andy in Selma, or Real Deal Flooring on South Saunders in Raleigh. Either way, Danny Johnson, 550-5294 to lay it, he is the best!

Little sista ripped up the carpet in her house and put down hard wood floors in the Master and Living area. Later she decided to put down hard wood floors in 2 other bedrooms and the hallway - they were discontinued! They got a different brand but matched it up as close as possible. No one can tell the difference.

See...its isn't about paying with credit, we're paying cash but they seem to have the best prices plus the 10% off everything else.

I know Lowe's has this other flooring contractor that puts in anything Lowe's sells as far as flooring goes. I just want to make sure that this other flooring contractor is up to par. Just because Lowe's is backing them doesn't mean they have to be the best.

Thanks everyone for your input... keep it coming!

call usa flooring and give them your quote - see if they will beat it? And maybe you can still save totally if their price is much better than Lowes??

We just had new vinyl put down in our kitchen and 1/2 bath. We shopped around and ended up dealing with Clayton Flooring. They are down in the little store area by Panchos in Clayton. David there was very helpful, let us bring samples home time after time, and was very competitive in price. The intallers did a great job as well. Might be worth just checking them out.

    Lowe's

I have used Lowe's in NC & SC for carpet & wood laminate. I would advise you to look over your itemized quote and review your charges. We had a couple of hundred dollars charged for things we didn't need or could do ourselves (i.e. move the kitchen table and 2 chairs 50.00, move/disconnect the washer and dryer 50.00, upgraded molding 100.00 etc.) We requested those charges be reomoved and Lowe's seemed happy to do so. We even saved 50.00 by picking up the laminate flooring (8 boxes) at Lowe's instead of having the installer do it. All in all we are completely satisfied with their price/work and quality.
