Does anyone else watch this show? It comes on AMC, Thursday's at 10:00pm and I'm absolutely hooked. I've watched it from the first episode. Of course, I'm a huge fan of the era, so that helps...but the story lines are scandalous and intriguing.
It's set in 1960. It's about the power-men...the ad executives on Madison Ave during that time. This was a time when men treated women much differently than they do today, but at the same time, women were beginning to discover their leverage with these men. These guys were incredibly arrogant with both their wives and their customers...because they could be. If you've ever been amazed at those old ads out of Life magazine that sold new refriderators to women by reminding them that it's their duty to be dressed in pearls when he comes home from work, have his slippers ready, and use the new fridge to whip up a dream meal for him...then you need to see this show. The series shows us a whole other world behind the ad.
Well, I don't need to get hooked on another show, lol. Trying to wean myself of a lot of TV as it is! Frogger
