Making little explosive devices use to be a big facination growing up. Never were they meant to harm but more of exercising what was taught in chemistry class. Try not to make too much out of this. All it did was burn his arm.
Most people now just assume that anyone making a bomb has villianous intentions. Its only natural in a new age of increased paranoia. I guess it sounds like he was just curious, but we all know what happened to the cat. This guy was lucky, even though he was unlucky enough to burn his hands according to the story. I hope he can recover the best he can. One thing that struck me odd, was that the news story says he was transported to WakeMed, but doesn't say anything about tranferring to the UNC burn unit. Perhaps his burns are not as severe as the story seems to suggest.
Now I wonder if the discount I received on the Acme bomb making kit was worth it. It was endorsed by the renowned bomb maker Wile E. Coyote.
