Effective November 1, 2007, Johnston County will not allow
outdoor irrigation for county water customers.

Johnston County had announced the most recent water restrictions this past Sunday, which would limit the number of outside irrigation days to one day per week.

However, in response to Governor Easley’s announcement this week, and the fact that several neighboring cities and counties have enacted more stringent regulations this week, Johnston County officials agree it is time to take another step. “I apologize for any confusion on this. However, we are team players and want to make sure we do our part.” stated County Manager Rick Hester.

Please tell me this applies to private wells!

Could someone please tell me if these water restrictions appliy to private well water usage? If not, I think it should since my neighbors water usage affects my water supply. Although, everyone is on their own individual well, our water supply comes from the same aquifer.

    Thank you.
