Does anyone know where you can find info on manslaughter charges?
Say you know a person was charged for manslaughter and you want to find out who they hurt and such?Do you know where to find this...looked in N&O, Smithfield Herald , and NC Dept of Correction. Not much luck there. Please help! THANKS

It doesn't tell what they actually did, or who they did it too.It has manslaughter, the date and the punishment. I was trying to find out who they actually hurt.
To be honest, it's a crazy neighbor that I had problems with due to the fact she threatened my eight year old.Now I found out she was convicted for manslaughter in 2001. Wonder if I need to worry about living near this crazy lady!

Sometimes you can go to archives at news stations websites or look up old news papers or if its possible to google there name it maybe there I am not sure I have a close relative that killed someone first degree murder and I also looked details of the crime and couldnt get anything so I asked him what he did .I think it was sugar coated though for my ears anyway. If you know what state county maybe you can pull up court documents ?

Did you report her threat? If she did this in 01 shes probally on parole still turn her in ! Im not sure but I think you get manslaughter for DWI or hitting someone with your car .If she threatened your kid Id take it seriously very seriously .

OMG! We went to court this past Thursday....they found her not guilty. The police officer who responded did not show up for court, so it was me, myself, and I. She had some people I'd never seen b-4 as her witnesses.
The DA didn't even ask her any questions. The DA claimed she was showing her true colors and didn't need to ask her anything. All her witnesses made my son look like the bad kid. She was on probation for 5 years, which is up now and they never mentioned it. They did make one of her witnesses look bad because she was a convivcted felon also. It was crazy! The people in the court kept laughing at this lady and the judge said there was not enough evidence to charge her. I wasn't about to let my 8 year old in a courtroom. Not a good place for a little boy, so I left him at home. When I was on my way home they happened to be behind me at a stop sign. The old lady blew the horn and when I looked up in the rearview mirror, there was about 5 middle fingers from her passengers in the window. I'm thinking this lady is really crazy. She won the case and still is acting like a child.

If the crime was in NC - the person tried here in NC State Courts not Federal Courts then you can call the NC Paroll Commission in Raleigh 919-716-3010. They can look up the felon/imnate/resident of the state & give you their status as public record.

It seems to me, that if the person was an adult when they were convicted, and you have a conviction date, you should be able to go to the county where they went to court and pull the public record to get any details that were made available in court. That is unless the case was sealed for some reason.
