Does anyone know the cost of these classes? Does anyone have any input on costs of local martial art classes for children/ teens? If so, let me know. I know I'll probably fall over about the costs but trying to find something individual for some of my kids to do and something that has quite a bit of discipline would be ideal. I checked into swimming about a year ago and was in sticker shock. Hoping it is different this time. A swimming place I check into in Raleigh for the kids was well over $1000 just to get them started and this was a price for 1 child. I'm looking for some activities that are local for kids. We've done some Y activities before but notice they've gone up alot lately. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Have a great rest of the weekend.

I don't have a link, but someone recently posted a local parks and recreation link that had martial arts, and the cost was really cheap. I think is was somewhere in Garner.

Can you not do the GCAA sports thing with all it's schedules and all your kids :) I have enough keeping up with where my son has to be for soccer, so I'm sure you would have a challenge!

    Parker's Self Defense

My boys have taken from Parker's before and really enjoyed it. They are located by Office Max off of Brightleaf in Smithfield. The instructor is great with kids. The price was appx $100/month which included the uniform. However, this price was the same for one or multiple people in the same family - you still paid $100/month no matter how many people were taking classes. You just had to buy the uniform for the additional people which was appx $40. Highly recommended!!!!

Thanks Karen! That would be awesome. I know the boys would love it. My girls are more into cheerleading/ dancing stuff. Working on one group of kids at a time and seeing what's out there for next year. We did Upwards and just finished up this past weekend so it got me thinking about next year. Trying to store some tax funds away for some of the recreational stuff. The rest goes to paying bills and food--LOL. Have a great week and thanks for all the great ideas.
