Last night I had to say good bye to one of my best friends. She was a quarter horse that we have loved dearly for the past 15 years; Giny would have been 27 years old March 2. Trained at a very early age as a therapy horse for handicap children she was nothing but pure joy for children and adults, and perfect for at the time we purchased her for my then 12 year old daughter - yes they grew up together. Not sure what happened but sometime yesterday afternoon she laid down and seemed to be in pain, and could not get up, we found her around 5:30 pm. We immediately call Dr. Matthew Frazier we were 4th on the list as this was after-hours; one of my daughters friends referred him as we had never seen or heard of him. Can I just tell you I have never meet a vet that was this compassionate, straight forward, gave us all the time we needed to say good bye, explained everything in detail as she would take her last breath with Dr. Frazier holding her head and cried with us afterwards. From what I understand Dr. Frazier specializes in horses (farm animals) so if you own a horse or cows, goats and need a vet you will find no better than Matthew Frazier. Dr. Frazier drew blood to run test to try to pin point what was wrong or just old age; and yes our hearts are truly broken. Matthew Frazier, D.V.M. 536 N. Lincoln Street Benson NC 27504 910-578-8373
Matt Frazier Sorry to hear of your loss. Dr Frazier was the vet we used when I owned a horse. He is a wonderful man and very compassionate. Highly recommend him. You can tell he really cares for the horse and that means a lot.
So sorry for you loss!! It's hard to say goodbye. Hoping each day that the memories of your friend will bring more smiles to your face and less and less tears.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I had heard of Dr. Frazier, but have never met him personally. Anyone who had ever mentioned him (had horses) and spoke highly of his skills and compassion. Giny sounds like a most wonderful horse, I'm glad she was so loved by you and your family. My first horse when I was 8 yrs old, was an American Quarter Horse, I have a real soft spot for them.
I am in tears right now hearing your story. i am truly sorry about your loss. dr frazier is the best, he will climb out of his bed from a dead sleep to come care for your horse. I have 2 horses, one is a recued horse and i wouldnt want any other vet to care for them but dr frazier.
