DH and I are looking for a new mattress. We've been to the place in White Oak by Best Buy, and found one we like. But, last night we were watching That 70's Show, and there was a commercial for a mattress store that was basically a buy one mattress box spring, get one free. DS could really use a new mattress. With $ as tight as it is, we thought we should at least look at that place to see what they have to offer. Has anyone else seen that ad? Would you please tell me the name of that company? (I know I should have written it down). TIA.
Please let me know what you find out. Hubby and I are in desperate need of a new mattress. Our old one is killing our backs.
Check Sam's Club if you have a card there. I got a very nice Serta Pillowtop one there last spring for about half what they are retail. It was on clearance since it was time to roll out the next model year.
BJ's sells mattresses as well, for pretty good prices. I just bought a new set, but got it at the place next to White Oak Cinemas, they were comparable to BJ's prices, but I got them down lower very easily.
We got a new queen mattress and box spring for the guest room back in December at America's Mattress in Clayton. We are very happy with the set, and they delivered it within 48 hours. I guess it would be helpful to add that we paid $499 after tax and delivery for the set. It is a Serta pillowtop.
I was not impressed with the place beside the movie theater. The man was kinda smarmy. I knew enough going in to ask about, and I wasn't impressed with his answers...such as none of the mattresses they carry are 'flippable'. He told me no major mfg makes a mattress that can be flipped because of the high cost of the fabric on top of a pillow. That was kinda hard to swallow. I went specifically there to find a buy one get one free deal. I did find a mattress for $1599 with box spring. They would 'give' me the full set for my son, but it would have to be that same exact mattress. Well, my son thought the bed I picked was too hard, and wanted a different one (one that cost even less money). At first he told me he could not do that. Then, later he told me that he was down from HQ in Maryland just filling in and he could pretty much make any deal possible as long as I bought it right then and there (my husband was not with me, and I was not about to buy a mattress without him!). He then wanted me to put a $10 deposit on it and write up the ticket, and I could bring my husband back. (see smarmy above). So with that, I thanked him for all his information, and left. DH and I talked about it over dinner, and we're going to go back to the Original Mattress Factory and buy the one we liked there (that was flippable). Also, they provide a better warranty and if we don't like the mattress they will trade it up for another model. I'm sure we'll never do that, but it's better than hearing that your SOL!
We just bought a new mattress and box spring set from the Original Mattress Factory at White Oak a couple of months ago and LOVE it!! They were nice to work with, knowledgable, delivered when they promised and even gave great customer service when we called with a question about the mattress a couple of weeks after delivery (sent a rep to our house to make sure we were satisfied!)
That does sound fishy, you're right. My mattress I bought was a cheap one, just for a spare room that might get used 5 nights a year, but we needed something for when my dad stays with us, he's got a bad shoulder and last time he stayed here woke up in a lot of pain. It seems like a decent mattress for what it's for, and the price seemed right. There really aren't a lot of places that have mattresses that flip anymore, I've done a lot of mattress shopping in the last 3 years...when moving into my house and shopping for the cabin, and they just don't do it anymore. (except OMF) I have a very expensive pillowtop that doesn't flip, so far no problems, it's the best mattress I've ever laid on, every night I lay down and tell my husband I love my bed. (I really do, that's how much I love it! I bought that one from Mattress Firm)
Anyone know if the OMF has q-pons? We are in discussions about a new mattress only, not the whole thing.
ok i know not helping you out but i am so excited, Mom called last night and asked if i wanted her bed from when she was a child with new mattress and springs for the guest room:hurray::hurray::hurray: Considering she will probably use it more than most, she is probably making sure it is comfortable - love my Mama:hurray:
Thats where we bought ours too, and we've been very happy! ...but they didn't send a rep out to make sure we were satisfied...
