There is a story on 1270 WMPM about a guy who stole meat from a ladies freezer while she was home.......................I can't get the story to show up for some reason!
Man Found Hiding In Closet Linked To Burglary - Johnston County deputies found Ricky Ray Brooks hiding in a closet yet the 35-year-old unemployed man, who was acting very nervous, couldn’t explain what he was doing. Minutes earlier, officers had responded to a burglary that had just occurred at the home of 69-year-old Jane Moore on Highway 222 just east of Kenly. Moore said someone had broken into her attached garage while she was at home and stole a large quantity of meats from her freezer plus a stereo system. A trash can was also missing. Deputies noticed a trash can beside the roadway a short distance away on Peacock Road . Officers went to the nearest home and found Brooks in the closet. They also spotted the stolen stereo in the bedroom and the meats in a freezer. Brooks was charged with first-degree burglary and felonious larceny. He was jailed under an $80,000 bond.
That would be the one! Sorry all, that just sounded so strange, him stealing meat out of a freezer while the poor lady was at home! :shock:
When I was a kid, our house was robbed on Christmas Eve while we were at church... they took the usual stuff, my Mom's jewelry ... tv set, silverware, clock, tape player, presents under the tree ... ransacked the house. The oddest thing was, they helped themselves to half the fudge my Aunt had given us - it had been sitting out on the kitchen counter! Guess burglary is a hungry job ...
