McGee's Beta Club Members Place in Competition

    MCGEE'S CROSSROADS-- Sixteen McGee's Crossroads Middle School representatives attended the North Carolina Junior Beta Club Convention on February 7 and 8 at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.
    This is an annual convention of Junior Beta Club Chapters from all over the state. McGee's students competed in the following areas:
    Candidate for State Office-- Nancy Ormond (Nancy is our chapter Vice President and was elected to the state wide office of Chaplain for the NC Junior Beta Club. She is eligible to run for the national office of chaplain at the national convention in New Orleans in June)
    Academic-- Luke Taylor, Mitch Smith, Avery Andrews, Bryant Carroll * Quiz Bowl
    Chris Lasky * Geography
    Traci Barbour * Spelling Bee
    Matt Werno * Math
    Erin Lineberger * Science (placed second overall in the competition)
    Stephanie Tolar, Alyssa Brewer, Lindsey Anderson * Living Literature Museum
    Arts & Crafts
    Alyssa Brewer * Needlepoint (place first overall in the competition, qualifying to compete at the national convention in June)
    Hunter Kunz * Woodworking
    Bryant Carroll * Watercolors & Charcoals
    Erin Lineberger * Pen & Ink Sketch
    Chris Lasky * Crochet
