I just wanted to take a moment to post that amidst our BBQ's and family get-togethers, let's please remember those in our armed forces and the sacrifices they have made for us all. Please keep our service members and their families in your prayers.
Remember that Memorial Day is primarily to honor those who have died in military service, but every single man and woman who has served or is serving deserves our appreciation every day. Thank you.
The sentiment is certainly appreciated, but as previously stated Memorial Day (nee Decoration Day) is to remember those who gave all while Veteran's Day honors those who serve/served. It's a common misconception, but comes from a good heart. Semper Fi!
If you haven't seen either movie, Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon or The Messenger with Woody Harrelson, I think both are a moving tribute to our fallen soldiers. Parental head's up: The Messenger is a little racy.
