Johnston County Schools and Carolina Pottery Honor Employee of the Month Mickey Bridgers Is District's August Employee of the Month SMITHFIELD-- Mickey G. Bridgers, teacher and Athletic Director at South Johnston High School, has been named Johnston County Schools' Employee of the Month for August. Bridgers was characterized as a workaholic who has managed to take time for family, friends, and church. With mediocrity as his pet peeve and "passion" as his favorite word, Bridgers has served the county as a teacher, coach, and athletic director. According to his nomination, the quality of work Bridgers does for Johnston County Schools far exceeds a person who just draws a paycheck. He is there at South Johnston to help in some way to make things better, to make things great, or at least to make a difference. In partnership with Carolina Pottery, Johnston County Schools salutes Mr. Bridgers for: * Demonstrating excellence on the job * Exhibiting a "teamwork" attitude * Making a significant contribution to the school, school district, employees, students and/or the community * Enthusiastically supporting the mission of Johnston County Schools Bridgers will be recognized at the September Board of Education meeting. He will receive a balloon bouquet, a $50 gift certificate from Carolina Pottery, and an appreciation certificate from Johnston County Schools. His photo will be displayed at Central Services.
