My daughter needs Microsoft Word 2007 for college classes. We have an older version. Just don’t know a lot about buying this type of thing. Is it best to go to a store and buy it or buy it online? Any suggestions?
Office/Word You can buy it from Staples. Just Word, or the Student Edition. You get a better deal with the Student Edition. If this is for College You can typically get it through school at a major discount! The one thing to note is you cannot get buy 2007 from any major retailer. They are selling 2010 now. The only way to get 2007 is to get it pre-installed on a computer or through a school or vendor/reseller. Student Edition = $150.00 - Install on 3 computers http://www.staples.com/Microsoft-Of...raditional-Disc)/product_866155?cmArea=SEARCH Word Alone = $140.00 http://www.staples.com/Microsoft-Word-2010/product_868510?cmArea=SEARCH
She may not need Word.. Honestly, you should take a look at openoffice.org It's free, and compatible with Word.
Forgot about openoffice. There is another options. I have been using skydrive from Microsoft. You need a Live! account but its free. Go to www.skydrive.com and create an account. You get access to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote for free. It will let you save to your sky drive as well. There is an option to have it sync with your documents on your computer as well. Its a pretty neat tool if you don't have Office installed on a computer.
Hmmmm...another option for good ole MS to weave it's tendrils deeper into your personal information, than it already has.
