Hayes Heatwole is a 6-year-old White male, approximately 3 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 45 pounds. He has blond- long shaggy hair, and blue eyes. Haley Heatwole is a 10-year-old White female, approximately 4 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 62 pounds. She has brown-shoulder length hair, and hazel eyes. Scar on her forehead that extends to the bridge of her nose. Allegedly, there is 1 abductor: Richard Doughlas Heatwole. Richard Doughlas Heatwole is described as 45 years old, White, male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. Authorities believe the suspect and children are traveling to St. Petersburg, Fl. The vehicle is a White 1986 Toyota Truck Extended Cab with NC license tag number YNS-8257. I think I just heard on the morning news that it's over. Ended in a standoff is about all I recall. I just heard that the father is presently in a standoff with authorities in Alexander County. Mike
Very sad. Looks like he had killed the children's mother and two other people before kidnapping the kids, then killed himself in a standoff with police. I am so thankful that the children are okay physically, but brokenhearted that they had to go through that and will now be without their mom. :cry:
