We're talking grants up to $150,000.00 here. After what we saw in the first year and a half after Katrina regarding how "no-strings-attached" money was handled by Katrina evacuees...they must be daft. And they must think taxpayers are just as daft. Dayum.
About time for what? You condone giving up to $150,000.00 taxpayer money per household to people - with no strings attached? A group of people who have shown a disproportionate tendency towards fcommitting fraud and irresponsibile spending of prior "no strings attached" taxpayer assistance? You think that's a smart idea?!?!?
No, I think it is about time we give $150,000 promised to these people who need the money. I am not for giving it to anyone who will commit fraud and if they do they should go to jail.
Who promised it to them? And why are they more worthy of such no-strings-attached financial assistance than anyone else who has lost everything they own due to a natural disaster? I don't think anyone is for giving it to anyone who will commit fraud, but how do the distributors judge who will and who won't?
I think it is a crazy idea and, like every thing else down there, will prove to be a bad idea. Unfortunately, by that time the money will be gone and they will need more assistance.
We had a chance to clean it up down there. Now it is going back to the dump it was previously. GIMME left town!!! No more Gimme's!!
