I know I posted this earlier, but the time is getting close. If you wish to help spread the word, please do so. And I will post a link at the end of the post where flyers can be printed out and distributed.

This is an on-going effort to make cars realize that their is an increase in 2 wheeled vehicles. this idea was sparked when I was pushed into the oncoming lane b/c the driver "didn't see me".

    The details are as follows.

    date: July 19th @ 9:30am...depart at 10am.

where: Lowes food store in Garner on the corner of hwy 50 and hwy 42W.

the more people that show up...hopefully the greater the impact. WRAL and other news stations have been contacted and I will be working with them to get as much coverage as possible.

any ideas or suggestions post them up. Also post up if you can go so I can get a decent head count. So far I have roughly 35-40 bikes. thanks in advance!

Statistics confirm several crash studies that found higher crash and fatality rates among untrained motorcyclists, said John Stokes, state traffic records coordinator with the North Carolina Governors Safety Highway Program.

Nationally, nearly half all motorcyclists killed are riders aged 40 or older, who have to compensate for decreasing coordination skills and reflexes, AAA says.

In North Carolina over the last three years, improper riding skills were a factor in 51 percent of the crash fatalities involving motorcycles,” Stokes said.

(only) Sixteen states currently mandate motorcycle training programs, according to AAA.

A quarter of motorcyclists involved in a fatal crash nationally did not have a valid license, according to a 2007 study by the Governors Highway Safety Association.

Operators of other vehicles contributed to 40 percent of all fatal motorcycle crashes, according to the Motorcycle Industry Council.
