My Grandbaby needs a new home

My daughter and her family just recently moved into a new home and have decided they can't keep their dog confined in the garage or small pen any longer. They had a fenced yard at their previous home, but with the expense of the move, a newborn baby, and 2 other small children and only hubby working, they cannot afford to put up a new fence at this time. Luke is a beautiful, full-blooded chocolate lab and is very friendly. He will make someone a great pet. I'm sharing the message she sent to several of our friends in hopes that someone on here may know someone who would give him a good home. She doesn't want to post him in the classifieds because she wants to be sure he's getting a good home. I know those of you who post here genuinely love animals and would appreciate it if you know of anyone who would love Luke as their own, please pm me and I will give you details of how to get in touch with my daughter. Sorry for the long post and thanks for looking! (daughter's message following)

Thanks Missy...we're still looking for a loving home for him. He is such a sweet dog. If I didn't have 2 already and could afford vet bills for a third I would consider taking him, but I live very near an ever-increasing busy road and do not have a fenced in yard either. Both of my babies are small indoor dogs and only go out with me or my 2 children to go "potty" then right back in! We do take them for a ride on the golf cart every night it's not raining so they can get out and exercise "up the hill" far away from the road. They love "bunny hunting" in the fields and by the pond! Hopefully someone will find it in their hearts to give Luke a good home soon. It breaks my heart for my two grandchildren that love him dearly, but I know it is best for him.

Might be able to get a home for him if it comes with fishing rights!

You know I'd love to have him. I miss my girl so much :-(. It just wouldn't be fair where I live now.

Maybe someone could foster him for a little while and let your family adjust? They don't have to put up a fence, you know. My girl has a radio collar and she's lab...just a thought. It's well worth it!

To all of you who offered to help my grandbaby, Luke, thank you, thank you, thank you. I just talked to my daughter tonight and she said their next door neighbor (at their old house) wants Luke. Luke is familiar with her and her family so I guess that's where he'll be going soon. Will let you know if it doesn't work out. You guys are awesome and I truly appreciate your concern and willingness to help! :)
