Gotcha thanks for the clarification. It makes a little more sense now.

God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him, "Lord, we don't need
you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of
nothing In other words, we can now do what you did in the beginning."

"Oh, is that so? Tell me..." replies God.

"Well," says the scientist, "we can take dirt and form it into the likeness
of You and breathe life into it, thus creating man."

    "Well, that's interesting. Show Me."

So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil.

"Oh no, no, no..." interrupts God,

    "Get your own dirt."

Forget aboout the dirt, why was the scientist talking to God in the first place? Did they meet for coffee to discuss evolution?

Because the scientist has finally realized that God IS real and wanted to "try" to show God up.......Didn't work!!! LOL

    God created science.

I will have you know, I have never suggested killing anyone who didn't believe in the same way as I.

You seem to think that religious people have locked up the corner on killing for their beliefs.

I have some news for you, there have been plenty of murders of believers by non-believers because they refused to drop their "silly" notion of a Supreme Being.

I disagree. Joseph Stalin has Torquemada beat.

Why?? Assuming you were convinced, would you act differently? Would you surrender your totalitarian spirit? Would you surrender your rights to yourself, as well you must, if He is to be your God? I doubt it.

    Nonsense!

Real science has done that and concluded there is God. Pseudo science never will admit He is, inspite of the overwhelming evidence.

Science can only examine what it holds in it hand. It guesses at the rest.

Cool, what "real" science was that? Where did they find the empirical proof of the existence of God? That would be the only way real science could prove the existence of anything is to record that entity in some fashion. So what did they find and where?

    WTF?

So science has proven that God exists? Tell me where this proof is. You got some trace evidence the CSI guys missed?

What overwhelming evidence are speaking of?

Not guesses but even if so that is much better than guessing about everything as does the religion based explanations. ;)

Look.....SOMEONE had to create science as well as everything else. Sorry folks. There was never any BIG BANG and alas, there we were. And If evolution were true, why is it not happening today? Apes are still apes and humans are humans. Cats did not evolve from lions. They are related scientifically and I suppose biologically as well. We are a separate species created for different purposes than any other creature. While science is good for discovering outerspace and medicines and cures and ways to make life somewhat easier, it does not do well in "creation" issues.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, it's just true. Nothing in this world just "appeared". It had to be CREATED. WHY is that so hard to understand? Why is God so hard to accept? He's not bad or poison. So why do people act like He is...........like cooties? That's crazy.........We have a creator, whether you like it or not. Whether that is you belief or not, YOU WERE STILL CREATED. Face it.

WHY WOULD IT BE SO HARD TO BELIEVE THAT GOD CREATED USING THE BIG BANG?!!?? I NEVER HAVE BEEN ABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE CONSIDER SCIENCE AND CREATIONISM TO BE ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE STORY. WHO IS TO SAY THAT GOD DIDNT CREATE THE PROCESS OF EVOLUTION???? I DONT CONSIDER THE TWO CONCEPTS TO BE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. GOD AND SCIENCE COEXIST HAPPILY IN MY WORLD!!!

Because God says in His word that He created us and that He knew us before we were born. And all I know is that one of these days I will look into the eyes of my Creator and be with Him forever. And neither science or man or anything can take that away from me.....All of these things that happen and that are said about God are all fortold in His word. On that is what I believe in. Way too much has happened in my life to deny God exists.

Science didn't heal the sick and raise the dead. Jesus did. Science did not bring me back from despair and despondency, GOD DID. How did He do it? I asked Him for help and gave it all to Him, to Someone who COULD do something about it. Science did not bless me with my family and the best mother-in-law anyone could ask for. GOD did that. Science did not get me to Him, HE called me to Him.

What did science do? It was blessed by God to make men knowledgable to develop medicine to make some diseases go away or be prevented. But no one in the science field could have done it without God. Science has discovered wonderful things.......because GOD showed it.

"But what if that person in science is a non-believer?", you say.

God blesses everyone in some ways whether you believe in Him or not. The difference between the believer and unbeliever is that the believer knows Who it came from and Who to be grateful to and to thank. The unbeliever says, "Ah, what luck!" or "Must be kharma!". And some even say, "Thank God!" and they don't give a hill of beans about Him.

My husband said something to someone once who was not a believer but had made the statement, "Oh my God!" in a conversation after this person had problem. He said, "You better call someone you know....."

I see that alot. Unbelievers say "thank God" or " Oh my God." and yet don't give Him the time of day. And there are believers out there, myself incuded, who do not give Him more time than they do.

This is a conviction for me as a believer as well. God used all of what I just said to make me see that I need to give Him more of my time than I do. Thank you, God.............

It is and the micro-evolution has been documented in several species. We have only been looking for a macro evolution for the last 150 or so years so we have not seen that yet. Given that macroevolution is a thousands of years process it is not expected to have proved that through observation as of yet.

But humans are different than they were in the past. We are on average taller than our ancestors, for example. Given a few thousand more years and we should see some changes that can be documented.

No, but they share a common ancestor in their evolutionary line.

Yes, as are humans and bonobos for example. We share something along the lines of 98% of our DNA with them.

That is what we so strongly wish to believe, but that is only a hopeful belief.

Actually, it does but it chips away at the belief that humans are the "special" part of the universe. This has been the case ever since science proved the Earth revolved around the Sun and not the other way around.

No, that would be a belief.

No, it did not have to be created but we as a species really really want to believe that to be true because it means we ARE the most special.

It is not hard to understand, but it is hard to believe without ignoring the science.

Well, have you read the Old Testament lately? That was a vengeful God .. ;)

No, just want some support for the claims.

That is a belief and one based solely on faith. It cannot be proven to anyone else so the only hope is to cinvince them to also blindly believe.
