How nice they are giving a half day notice for people to hear about this an arrange schedules to attend. This article does not even state what time this meeting is.

NC House budget committee seeks statewide input

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- House budget-writers want to hear from constituents before making tough decisions where to cut North Carolina government spending for the next two years.

The House Appropriations Committee scheduled a statewide public hearing Tuesday night to take comments from citizens on what should be the state's priorities in difficult fiscal times.

The panel will meet at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh, but people at 10 community college campuses can participate by video conference. The event will be shown on the Internet.

The House will have to assemble a spending plan while the state faces its worst economic situation in a generation. Lawmakers must close a $3 billion budget gap for the fiscal year starting July 1. The Senate approved a $20 billion plan three weeks ago
