I am looking for feedback on the best time to go to the state fair with a 4 year old. We are trying to find a time that it is not terribly crowded. Alot of people I work with like to take a day off and go on a weekday morning week but I tried that last year and it was extremely crowded. We also tried Sunday afternoon and that was even worse. There were 30 plus minute waits for some rides and we were in kiddie land! Has anyone had any luck on a Saturday night? That is when my boss likes to go with his child. Thanks
Saturday night would be the absolute worst time to possibly be anywhere near the fairgrounds. I think a weekday morning is about as good as you're going to get...
we always go in the morning first thing and during the week, no big lines and not to crowded for the kids!!
We are always there when the gates open on a weekday. It starts to get crowded around 11:00 and by noon usually is so crowded we are ready to leave. So we try and hit thinks like the petting barn and kiddie rides the first hour or two.
My daughter is 8 and not into the kiddie rides anymore. We go durring the week early. On the weekends its to crowded to bring young children and sometimes schools give a workday during the fair.
We have 2 young children also and we have made a tradition of going the first day of the fair ~ Friday. We feel that things are a little bit cleaner on that day and the crowd has not seemed as bad and I've heard it is on other days. We get up early, stop by Bo's for breakfast and get to the fairgrounds about the time the gates open.
best fair time Sunday mornings are the best!! Until Church lets out around noon you have the place to yourself. Its fabulous!
