Anyone know for sure if you have to take the written test again to renew your license if you've had a wreck (or 3) and a ticket (or 3)....??? Just wondering if I need to study so that I can GET my license renewed!

I had to renew my license (I think in 2006). I did not have any accidents or tickets. They said it was a requirment for all renewals to take the sign and vision tests.

I'm fine with the sign and vision tests...it's the actual paper test I'm scared of. Haha, you think they'll look at my record and laugh at the thought of a renewal??

Have you tried going to their website? They probably have that sort of information there, or a phone # to call.

i'm going with "yes". accidents wouldn't prompt the test unless you were ticketed, but if you've had 3, bet on it.

i have had a few wrecks over the years, along with some tickets. i have only had to take the vision (sign) test. it took longer to stand in the damn line than it did to take the test. ncdmv SUCKS

 I wonder how many people would fail the driving test if they had to take it again... 10 15 20 years later.

    Heck that might be skeery:shock:
