The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close the U.S. 70 Business bridge over I-95 in Johnston County from Wednesday, September 27 until late November for improvements. The exit ramps will be open but traffic will not be able to cross the bridge. We are encouraging I-95 northbound travelers to take Exit 97 to access the Carolina Premium Outlets and hotels. Southbound travelers who need to access hotels and businesses on the northbound side of Exit 95 will need to take Exit 93 (Brogden Rd.), return to I-95 North and exit off at Exit 95. Motorists can also expect lane closures on both directions of I-95 beginning in October. The closures will occur nightly between midnight and 6 a.m., Sunday through Friday. No closures will be scheduled between 6 a.m. on Friday and midnight on Sunday. As construction progresses, NCDOT will keep the public informed about upcoming lane closures.
