Hate it for Amato. Really liked him alot. He did a lot of really good things for the program....or maybe it was all Philip Rivers...who knows. Still, i want the Pack to win and they arent doing that.

Maybe Lou Holtz will come out of retirement.

My top choice though is Steve Logan. I like anyone who tells it like it is. Ever listen to his call in show? Freaking hillarious.

I'll say that it is kinda surprising since the DoA said in an interview several weeks ago that Chuck would be at State for aleast 2 more years.

Where is Dick Sheridan? Didn't he go to the beach to sell real estate?

We do NOT, repeat do NOT, want Steve Logan. He is a pompous idiot who did nothing for ECU football except antagonize a lot of alumni and faculty. (Grew up in Greenville but went to State).

Why do you want a coach because he is hilarious on the radio? That would not lead to a winning season. The players and his staff did not have much respect for him, and neither did the alumni or staff at ECU. To me that says a lot about a man's character more than if he is funny on a radio program. His record at ECU wasn't all that great, either.

So he wasnt a butt kisser with the alumni. Big woop. Yes his radio show is funny because he tells it like he see's it which is quite refreshing. He puts blame on players moreso than coachess. Afterall it is the players who play the game. Example....im sure at no time in his career did Amato tell John McGargo to charge across the line and go unabated to the Qb for a 15 yard penalty. Amato never told the players to jump offsides 5 times a game either. At some point, you have to start putting blame on players.

I believe Daniel Evans, for a 5 game stretch when the Pack was going for a possible tie or winning drive in the last few minutes, threw an interception. How is that Amato's fault?

As far as Logan, he understands the game. Probably never had the talent he needed at ECU but his record there was 69-58 in 11 years with 5 bowl appearances. His time in NFL Europe, according to the teams press release....

"Steve Logan returns for a third season in the NFL Europe League and a first campaign as offensive coordinator of the Rhein Fire. Spent the two previous seasons as quarterbacks coach of the Berlin Thunder.

In each of his two seasons in Berlin, Logan helped his quarterbacks top the NFLEL passer ratings as Dave Ragone (97.5 rating in 2005) and Rohan Davey (106.4 rating in 2004) earned All-NFLEL honors and were named the league's Offensive Players of the Year.

Logan served as head coach of East Carolina University from 1992 to 2002 and previously coached the running backs there from 1989 to 2001. Before that he had stints with Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and Colorado."

State needs offense. Where do you suggest they look?

Being ECU alumni and both an NCSU and ECU fan, I have to say I do not welcome Logan at NCSU. He is definitely an arrogant jerk. While I do like it when people say what they think, ya' gotta have some tact and realize that the world doesn't revolve around you. When I was at ECU, I was friends mith many of the players and they had no respect for Logan. That doesn't say much. I think NCSU can make a better choice.

Logan is a brilliant footaball mind

no debate that his offensive skills are among the games best. I thought it was the worst decision to fire Coach Logan at the time. You knew with Coach Logan that they were student Athletes and they did not get into trouble. His players had a high level of respect for Coach. We all knew he would get fired as the University President and Athletic Director did not hire him. It was proven without a doubt that it was a mistake. Can we say John Thompson!!! We are lucky to have Skip Holtz now, but I do not see Coach Logan getting back into coaching much less at NCSU. What coach do you think the cow college can get. Every coach they hire they want to run out of town after a few years. NCSU has the facilities to recruit, but they will not give their coaches time. If they had given Coach O'Cain the resources that Amato had they would be improved. With all that said, thank goodness they fired him. His teams lacked class. Maybe the next coach will bench some of the thugs

Funny, I was trying to figure out why I was sensored, and just figured it was Coach Sheridans first name. At first I thought I might have missspelled something.

I've noticed that that word gets censored every time, even when you're writing someone's name. I guess we'll have to be more formal and ues Richard. :?

I'm a State alum. and I think it's a huge mistake to fire Amato. He has been a program builder in the past and is capable of getting the pack back where we want to be. I also think he's a great recruiter and I've never heard anything negative about his program. It will take longer for a new coach to turn things around, in my opinion. How soon we forget a coach's contributions when the team has an off season. What a shame.
