    Hi,
We moved to Clayton 5 months ago and I was wondering if anyone had some recommendation's for the following.

A female family practioner with a female P.A./N.P. - Even DH prefers a woman for a Dr. and my 2 girls are 18 and 21 and would much rather see a woman.

A Dentist. I have looked through some of the threads and Dr. Riccobene seems to be popular is it hard to get an appointment there?

A Veteranarian. We have a 17 year old diabetic cat that has to have blood work done every 6 months and need someone who knows about feline diabetes.

    A reasonably priced gym.

A nearby Chevrolet dealer for service work on our Blazer.

    Thanks for your help,

    Meredith

I use Cleveland School Animal Hospital. My cat was diagnosed with diabetes about 4 months ago and I have been very happy with the treatment we have been getting. Dr. Debbie Basden. They have a clinic cat (Hamish) that they actually reversed his diabetes. I would recommned them highly for that need.
You'll get more reommendations for the rest soon :)
I use Riccobene. It is NOT hard to get an appointment.
    Welcome!

I recommend Dr. Maria Fakadej in Clayton (Duke Health). 550.6133
She has female nurses, also, and I have been pleased with the office (and have been a patient for about 8 years.)

I also recommend Dr. Riccobene's offices, which I use (I go to the 40/42 office).

    Welcome to the board :)

    Dr. Tim Sims (40/42 area)
    Peak Fitness
Horizon Family Medicine has a female named Kathleen.

As far as a dentist goes, Dr R is the only one I will go to. He now has multiple offices at 40/42, Flowers, Knightdale, McGees and Selma.

DO NOT under any circumstance, get any service work done at Sir Walter Chevrolet in Raleigh. My van was worse when they were done with it than it was when I brought it in. They did body damage to it as well (pried metal trying to get to the part they needed) and they denied it. Worst experience I ever had at any car establishment. Bobby Murray Chevrolet (also Raleigh) did some minor work for me and they were great.

For a gym, what kind are you looking for...women only, coed, more full service with a pool, etc. That info will help us give recommendations.

Welcome to the area :) Where did you move here from?

I've been very happy with Lane and Assoc as my dentist.

I always took my dog to Clayton Animal Hospital

As for a Chevy Dealer, Smithfield Chevy on Brightleaf Blvd or Sir Walter on Capital Blvd (next to the Raleigh Flea Market or is it Bobby Murrey that's on Captal) are about the closest. I'm a Ford fan, so I don't know much about the local Chevy dealers.

    Thanks

Thank you for all your information. We moved here from a town that is about 25 miles outside of Boston,MA. My husband works for Fideltiy Investments which has relocated a few hundred people to RTP, they are in the process of building a new office there. We couldn't be happier since we knew that eventually we wanted out of the cold and they gave us the opportunity to do it sooner than later. We have 2 daughters in college back in MA, one is graduating this year and has applied to NC State for Graduate school (in Mathematics) the other is applying to transfer to UNC Wilmington (she is an Elementary Education and Math major).
Sounds like the dentist is a lock, and Smithfield Chevy sounds good since we just need a place to bring our Chevy for warranty work.
As far as a gym it does not have to be single sex, I was looking for something that wasn't a ton of money each month and had a variety of things such as eliptical machines, treadmills etc.
I think I will give Clayton Animal Hospital a try.
It is so tough choosing new things we had been in MA all of our lives and had been with the same doctor and dentist forever.
    Thank you for the welcome.

I purchased a car from Smithfield Chevrolet and had work done there. We were pleased.

We take our 4-legged babies to Clayton Animal Hospital and wouldn't trust anyone else.

I go to Clayton Dental Associates on the corner of Guy Rd. and 42 (I have for around 19-20 yrs). I am fairly please (they don't hurt me) but am thinking about giving Dr. R a try. He is a nice man!

I also go to an all female gym at 4042.

    Welcome!

I go to Fit For Life behind Food Lion and love it! It's co-ed, and not crowded like others around. They have quite a few elipticals and treadmills, aerobics class (I've never done that though) and bikes as well as weights. I've been going there for 4 months, and only twice I couldn't get on the machine I wanted due to it being crowded.

I don't have a chevy, so can't help you with that...

    I don't have a pet, so I can't help you with that...

I go to Dr Arthur (dentist) on Timber and Garner, but it sounds like you already found one. They're hard to get into anyway.
