My husband is reenlisting in the army next month and I'm trying to put together a surprise going away party for him. I would prefer to have it in the 40/42 area, as I may be flying his mom and sister in and it would just be easier to sneak them around if I don't have to drive to Raleigh to have the party. I'm not opposed to locations in Clayton and Garner either.

I would need a private room at a restaurant that would hold 30-40 people. I have not decided if it will be a pay your way kind of thing or if we will be paying for everything. I guess it just depends on the location and the cost of the food.

    Any suggestions?

Lone Star (359-6201) in Clayton has a private room.

Chops has a private room as well, we had a bridal shower brunch there and they were very accomodating.

i was going to suggest Chops too for a private function - their private room is just that, very private and away from the dining room.
