Any suggestions? I got one quote for $300 plus labor. Please tell me there is someone out there who is not as expensive. Living on one income at the moment and we are really hitting hard times. (Any mechanics on the board, its a 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette) Thanks!
Whoops, I got it wrong... Its $477 plus tax, plus shop fee's. For the left side only... Can anyone recommend another mechanic?
I believe it was Meineke... I know they are pretty pricey as it is, which is why I was asking this forum. Ugh. Hate car repairs!! Thanks for the suggestion, I will defintely give them a call!
I'd call Clayton Tire too, I've had good luck with them. You might also try K&W's on O'Neil St in Clayton.
I'd stay away from "Just Tires" though, they tried to charge DH a rediculous amount of $$ just to fix a nail in a tire, he walked out. It was less than $10 at Walmart. For what it's worth, that's about the only thing I have let Walmart do to my car, lol.
had to have one replaced last year, used Monro at BJ's and no you don't have to have a membership for this type of stuff, we found them to be very fair on cost of labor/parts, we always shop around for pricing. We've also bought 4 sets of tires there for our cars over the last 8 years. Tires come with a lifetime rotation/balance, repairs such as nails etc., price of the tires includes everything, mounting etc. Good luck.
Wheel Bearing A handyman, mechanic - Joe O. 919-816-6557. He works for AutoZone and does work on the side. He replaced two Sway bars in my Expedition in less than 1 hour for less than $150.00. Give him a call, he is very handy
My hubby is a Master Tech with Volvo. Also does work on the side on any type of vehicle. You can check with him if you like. email address is sliquor69@yahoo.com .
On my car (an old BMW) it one of those jobs that can be one hour or can be six... and a total hellish nightmare. DH has been "putting it off" on my car for months... maybe one day... but it is not tooooooooooo bad yet. Good Luck.
Thanks everyone for their suggestions! I dropped my car off last night at Clayton Tires. It wasnt until I pulled up there that I remembered I had reneted a couple of u-hauls from them before. Very, very, very nice people! Everyone was very friendly and didnt make you stand around waiting forever...which was always nice lol. The owner gave me a really good deal on my wheel bearing! I was actually got shocked at the price compared to what the other mechanics quoted me as. I know my car is in good hands and I HIGHLY recommend Clayton Tires off of hwy 70! Thanks again!!!
