This place isn't local, but it bears mentioning. If you know anyone looking for a dress and they want to drive down to Santee, SC, at the Santee Outlet there is a place there. It is a charity shop for a Breast Cancer group, Making Memories or something like that. Anyway, they ahve tons of dresses in all price ranges, and the money raised goes to the charity. They also have all kinds of bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride, flower girl, etc, and veils. A lot look like they are preowned, but a lot looked brand new, too, to my untrained eye.

My sister and I found the place last week on our way down to Disney World. Her daughter is getting married, and we were looking for veils. She already has her dress, but my sis didn't want to pay $150 for the matching veil.

Now, don't expect much of anything else at the Santee Outlet. Lots and lots of empty stores! There's a Dress Barn, an antique store, some surplus store, a Leggs/Bali/Hanes store and a little restaurant. That's about it. We had stopped for the party/paper store that we visited back in 2005, but it was gone.
