If you're not familiar with World of Warcraft (or D&D in general) you might want to skip this thread.

Ok, I'm about ready to start checking out World of Warcraft. I've heard a lot about it before, but didn't seriously think about checking it out until a friend talked me into it.

In previous D&D games, I prefer to be a Ranger. WoW's closest choice is Hunter. I would also prefer to be human, but WoW's hunters can't be human, so I guess I'll be a night elf (closest to human).

Now I need a name. I've played D&D before, but never really had to choose a name. For WoW, I do. This will be a name that, if I like WoW, might be with me for years.

So, given that I will be a Hunter/Ranger of the Night Elf race, what do you think my name should be?

    Limitations:
    2 - 10 characters.
    No spaces.
    No special characters.

    TIA

One of the NPC's we had back when I was playing AD&D was a Drow (Dark Elf) by the name of Nightshae.

THERE'S ANOTHER WOW PERSON ON HERE! COOL!!!!!

I have a dwarf hunter, night elf druid, orc hunter, and gnome warlock. I had an undead rogue, but actually got a little bored with it.

My husband has several characters as well. If you haven't already joined a server, maybe we'll see you around the Bronzebeard realm.

    Have fun!

(The best thing when I taught middle school was talking to all of the students who had characters. I actually quested with a few online, and I tutored a boy from Canada in my husband's guild last school year...he had to get his grades up if he wanted to continue playing.)

I know there's quite a few out there, but I still find it surprising to see a woman who's into D&D. (you are a woman, right? I know you referred to your "husband", but in this day and age that doesn't really clarify. ;) )

I'll check it out, once I get done with the manual. I know, from prior experience, that I need to read everything that Blizzard makes available about the game before starting. It's not necessary to actually play, but trying to learn by doing leaves too many bodies too early.

Yes, Clif, I am a woman! Actually, I've met a few who enjoy the game, too. My husband laughs that all my characters are female...he says only teenage boys actually make female characters. LOL

I didn't read the manual carefully with my first character, the NE druid. It made it more difficult, and I've only gone to lvl 36 with her. Once I figured out the game, I created the hunter and she's a lvl 66 1/2. (I've been leveling my warlock (47) and my horde character (31) recently.)

    It's a great stress relief.

In case y'all care (and even of you don't)...

I selected my Elven name for World of Warcraft.

It's Morndae. (From Elven "Morn" meaning "Dark" and "Dae" meaning "Shadow")

I'm a Night Elf Hunter and currently in Shu'halo realm.

    Good name!

My NE druid is Lethalivy. After all, the druids are attuned to nature, and she's pretty tough for a leather armor character.

My warlock is a misnomer...she's Smartblond.

    ROFLMAO!

The funniest part was at the end, where they let you see (or rather, hear) some of the creative process.
