My Mitsubishi Endeavor key broke out of its case while in the ignition today. When I tried to start the key by itself it would not work. Does anyone know of a locksmith that can help with this "chip key" ?

Sounds like it is "chipped" to me. A locksmith can get the key out with a tool that is basically a straightened fish hook. Good luck.
