Can someone give me a referral for someone to come look at the AC Unit sooner than later who isn't going to kill me on the rates especially now that it's going to be 103 today? Woke up at 4:30 a.m. this morning and the house was already at 84 degrees. Cooler air coming through the vents but the AC unit isn't kicking on. Thank you.
There was a recent thread on this, you can do a search, but I would recommend Arctic Air at 796-4681.
HI! We just had the same problem, only our upstairs was 98 degrees! HOT!!! My husband is a construction manager and we used one of their vendors. WEATHER MASTER. I'm not sure of the phone number, but they were very nice and got to us super quick. Tell them the GUTHRIE's sent you!!
989-9078 Suburban Heating and Air Conditioning They helped me out FAST last year when my AC crapped out in a hot spell. Great service and the price was more than fair. My Dad and brother are contractors and highly recommended them to me.
My AC went out last night also, unit outside would not come on. Problem was fuses outside of house. On my units there's a fuse block going to outside AC unit. Fuses cost 5.36 at Ace. good luck. b
AC Repair Recommendation Thanks for all the referrals. Made a call to a guy around 8:30; was at my house by 1:15 p.m. and out the door at 2:00. It ended up being a canister-looking thing just inside the cover of the unit that was shot - back in business.
I had to go to Dollar General this morning and their AC has been out for a few days. They can't find anyone to come look at it because everyone is so booked up. I won't be back in there till it's fixed . . . I hate being hot! On a side note - most of their summer stuff was 1/2 off!
Hey I feel ya'lls pain. At work all day didn't find out til I was on my way home from work that my ac had been out all day. Went all night Friday night without ac but repair guy was here at 830am and gone by 9am and we are back in business too. Oh gosh hoping i don't have to do that again anytime soon.
Sounds like a capacitor. We had a similar problem recently, and it turns out that if the AC *tries* to work, but the outdoor fan is not coming on, it's usually due to either a faulty capacitor or a contact switch. Either one is a fairly cheap part to replace, the only big variable is the cost of the service call, and how much $$ the repairman charges you to diagnose it (or how long it takes him to figure it out). One thing to test, as I found out, is to see if you can coax the fan to start by using a small stick (BE CAREFUL!!!) to get the blades started- it *might* start turning on it's own- then chances are it's a bad capacitor. Rig.
