    Hey Everyone!

I'm looking for a good club/restaurant where couples in their late 40's, 50's can go and get some dinner and listen to live music. Would like to hear classic rock/country, jazz/blues. We're new in the clayton area and have no idea what's out there. If we have to go to Raleigh, we don't mind. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks to all.

The Flipside - Corner of Lombard & 2nd St. Clayton, across the street from Clayton Food Town. Great food, good music, nice folks. Usually live music on Friday and saturday nights; Hardly ever a cover charge. Try it, you'll like it!!!

42nd Street Oyster Bar has good food and nice atmosphere with music entertainment. Their website will have an entertainment calendar if you are interested. It is in the Power District in Raleigh.

I had heard such good things about The Flipside, I was really looking forward to trying it. We went one night to hear a band, couldn't even get in the place, it's TINY. There was no place to sit or even stand, so we had to leave.

yep, 42nd Street is wonderful and so is the Blue Martini. There are all age groups in both places.

The Flipside is a great place. If a popular band is there it can sometimes be hard to get a seat, but most of the time seating is not an issue. It's also non-smoking so you don't come out smelling like an ashtray. If you're a smoker they have a covered deck outside where you can light'em up.
