I'm checking a board and have a component that's shown on the schematic with no designation? And the part has no printing on it. I've checked all the symbol libraries? Anyone know what this designation means? It's a small board with all SMD's on it. I'm assuming it generates excessive heat because the board has a hole in it that the prongs jump over for solder connections. I'm afraid that it's strictly for chip installation orientation, because the symbol looks like the chip?
I had the same thought! That corner?? So I tested it as a flip and it didn't give the results of a bad or good flip.
I had another thought, but I'm even less sure... It could be a solid-state relay. That would explain the lack of printing on the component, but the symbol (obviously) isn't that of a relay.
Usually that corner signifies the position of the socket to place the component. I don't read prior post. So if this was mentioned to bad so sad.
The end result on many of the china based products that lack tech data for diagnostics and repair: "Mr. Customer, Sorry, but it's a throw away. Born in China & Buried in America." Thanks for your input Clif!
No prob. I look forward to posts in this topic area as it's usually a trip down memory lane, as it were.
