My teen thought she understood the portion of pre-calculus she has been taught but when she received her test grade back...uh, oh. She even spent an hour or so at a neighbor's house while he tutored her and she thought she understood but obviously not.

Anyone know of someone who will tutor? Both of us know that she needs to understand it now or she is sunk. We waited too long on French last year and she did not get the grade she wanted but it was okay. So, we don't need to wait.

    Help!

Can't her teacher help her (for free)? Most offer one afternoon per week of tutoring? I did see this ad in the classifieds the other day:

Thanks, bandmom. We tried the teacher tutoring in French last year and it did not work. The teacher only had a limited amount of time and was not consistent. We are looking for someone who can spend at least an hour a week with her until she understands it.

I will contact the person in the classifieds to see if they can do it. Thanks so much. This is just not my subject.

You might try calling student services up at JCC and see if you can post it on the bullentin board for the students. It would be a great opportunity to a college student. Plus, they might relate on a certain level as well.
