Working on a project that would allow for someone to freely recycle the newspapers that they do not need. Can pick up immediately!

If you're in Smithfield, the easiest thing would be to call The Herald/N&O offices on Market Street and ask them what they do with their returns. How much newspaper are we talking?

    Thank you!!

We are actually talking a LOT of newspapers...like 100 or so...we need them for a project for my son. He is trying several methods for a botanical science project to test which method (lines, mulches, or thick moistened newspaper, or trash bags) will prevent more weeds. We have dug several areas in our yard (read...EYESORE)...in the backyard to test it and just need the newspaper as the last bit of materials.

Anyone that did have them already I thought it would be better to use them...as it would be a method of recycling.

    Response from the N/O

Okay the News and Observer will not provide us with any newspapers because of advertisers that do not want the newspapers given out freely, even if they are outdated. All of the returned papers are recycled there on site.

    Any other ideas?

If needed immedately, try BN Printing in Benson. They may be able to help you and they are locally owned and operated. Besides printing tee shirts, signs, decals, etc. they also have a press.
