So, how does the tag transfer stuff work with the whole tax and tags together thing the DMV is doing now? I am buying a new car and selling my old car to private party (no trade-in). Was planning on taking my license plate off my old car and taking with me to dealership for tag transfer. The when I sell my old car, the new owner can take it up to DMV and get new tags, transfer or get 30 day tags. Is this how it works?
I bought a new car a couple of months ago and they did not do the taxes or license as before. I got a bill from the DMV for the county taxes and the license had no sticker until the taxes were paid.
