Just wondering who has heard much about it, beside what is in the papers? Anyone out there interested in it? I am!

    Thanks!

Depends on what the Charter is. We visited several when selecting one for our daughter and some of them weren't what we were looking for. One was back to the basics and only taught the 3 R's and nothing else...etc.

I loved my daughter's charter High school. (Raleigh Charter)

havent read the story, but one thing to keep in mind is the credit system. The charter school i went to used non-standard classes, which resulted in basically being trapped because none of the standard high schools had any idea what to do with "Integrated Science 1" or "Integrated Math 2" when it came to assigning credits from the transcript.

kk. read the article and its an elementary school, but still its an important thing to keep in mind for charter schools in general.

Has anybody else wondered why SELMA???

Was that the only building they could find?

    Any one?

I would have thought a great many parents from this end of JOCO would have been interested in a Charter Elem School. Granted we do have some of the very best school on this side of I95.

    But Selma?

    ?????????????????????????

I guess they figured those of us over here would migrate to Garner...

not to be labeled as a troll but
why not selma ??-- maybe there are students who may benefit from a charter school there -- consider that the parents and community leaders have a vision that other joco parents and community members don't have -- maybe they worked hard to complete the required ground work when no others stepped up -- why not selma??
