Just hear that the Town of Clayton Planning Board tabled the proposed site plan for the new Elementary School on Vinson Road in Clayton at their meeting tonight, May 29. This proposes elementary school is across Vinson Road from the back entrance to Glen Laurel Subdivision. The reason? No one attended the Planning Board meeting representing Johnston County Schools. You would think that our Johnston School System could coordinate important presentations such as this. I assume the school is needed ASAP!
This doesn't make sense. Why build another school not too far from East Clayton? As far as I know of, most Glen Laurel students go to East Clayton. I wonder if anybody mentions about building a new high school?
You obviously have not driven down 1010. The Planning Board, or any board for that matter, will table any item brought to them (subidivision, rezoning, etc...) if there is not an "owner" there to answer any questions. Does not matter if the question is as simple as "Will there be grass on this site anywhere?", if there is no one representing the item then the board will table it regardless of any need.
she obviously hasnt been to east clayton over crowded at its best. maybe they can get rid of some trailers now.
